About Jim Vanderpool
Jim Vanderpool has practiced law since 2000. He opened this firm in Franklin in 2002 and has served Middle Tennessee families and businesses from here ever since, in real estate and estate planning. More than 15,000 closings so far. Buying or selling a house and planning for your family are two of the biggest things you will ever do. He handles both, as your lawyer. He is also the inventor of Contract Superintelligence, the technology he began building for this office in 2017 that now gives buyers and sellers across Tennessee their closing numbers the day the contract is signed.
Jim’s paper, Contract Superintelligence: Reading Legal Documents the Way Lawyers Do, is published on the Social Science Research Network, the Elsevier research library where law professors, economists and judges post their work for other scholars to read and cite. It could only have come from one place: more than 15,000 Tennessee closings since 2002, every contract behind them read by Jim himself, and a working knowledge of the American title, escrow and closing process built one file at a time. The technology reads a contract the way Jim does because he taught it how. At Vanderpool Law in Franklin, that same reading is what buyers and sellers in Franklin, Brentwood and across Middle Tennessee get at their closing.
Ask him what he likes most about the work, though, and he’ll tell you it’s a toss-up: helping a family set up a trust, or helping someone buy or sell their home. Fortunately for buyers and sellers in Franklin and Brentwood, both are still his favorite parts of the job.
